The Audi Q5 can use seven-speed S tronic or Tiptronic depending on engine, generation and performance level, with current electrified drivetrains adding another layer of control. A Q5 shudder therefore needs the gearbox and quattro system assessed together.

Tiptronic is a conventional torque-converter automatic used on selected higher-torque Q5 applications. Valve-body pressure, converter lock-up and internal clutch condition are the main diagnostic areas.
Current Q5 S tronic systems are integrated with newer mild-hybrid powertrains. Gearbox data needs to be considered alongside engine torque and electrified control when warnings or drive-quality issues appear.
