The current UK Subaru Outback uses Lineartronic CVT with permanent Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and an eight-step manual-mode simulation. Earlier Outbacks include older conventional automatics and diesel Lineartronic models, so the transmission should be identified by generation and engine.
